The Clear Lake Methodist United Methodist Women have two groups. The Afternoon group consists mostly of retired women and an evening group for the working women plus some of the afternoon members also belong to that group.
The Clear Lake United Methodist Afternoon Group meets on the 2nd Wednesday of each month at 2:00pm for a structured meeting and a potluck lunch. When Covid is not an issue, we meet in the commons at Ridgeview Apts., 390 5th St NW, Clear Lake, WI. Otherwise, we meet in the Clear Lake church basement, 420 4th Ave, Clear Lake, WI. Membership dues are $12 per year

A typical meeting begins by reading our Mission Statement together. We then do Roll Call by answering with a scripture reading. Next, we approve the secretary's minutes and treasurer's report and discuss old and new business. The meetings end with a prayer and Potluck.
We have a UMW Sister, Barbara Bender from Prairie Farm who is available to answer questions we might have.
We are active in a variety of ways:
1. Singing or Bingo with dessert provided, for three nursing homes in Amery, WI; Golden Age Manor, Willow Ridge Health Care and Amery Memory Care.
2. Prayer Shawl Ministry-- Some crochet prayer shawls. Others find people who need them.
3. Benefit Baskets-- We prepare baskets for benefit auctions for particular local needs.
4. Christmas for Children
5. UMW Sunday--an active church member receives recognition with a Gold Pin and certificate.
6. Prepare and serve many church meals
7. Cookie Sale and Baked Potato Supper
8. Two Thrift Sales each year (spring and fall).
9. Vacation Bible School
10. Send cards to Shut-ins
11. Picnic, Praise & Song (a monthly picnic & entertainment event during the summer).
12. Women’s retreat (annually)
The Clear Lake United Methodist Evening Circle is a mission-based group partaking in a variety of projects. We meet when our schedules allow and invite all to join us. We are always pleasantly surprised with our creativity when assembling the pillowcases and small blankets we sew with the abundance of material that has been donated. These items are then donated to homeless shelters.
We devise our “Sunshine Baskets” with generously donated items. These baskets are given to church members and friends throughout the community in need of some cheering up.
We organize along with our United Methodist Women’s afternoon group our annual Christmas Cookie sale along with our well known Stuffed Baked Potato meal. With the proceeds we are able to contribute to a variety of local charities.
We organize a yearly retreat where we venture out for the weekend to refresh ourselves spiritually, bond with others, de-stress and rest.
Our group enjoys working together to provide for those in need and spreading God’s love however able.
Dorcas Piecemakers : Our Circle group will be meeting the first and third Mondays of each month. We began a new project, making bibs for the nursing homes and will be continuing to make pillowcases for the shelters. We will be meeting on Monday Aug. 1st and 15th at 1:00 at the church. All are welcome, we need cutters, ironers and a chance to visit a bit while we’re together.
Evening Circle Making Pillowcases: Anyone who likes to match fabrics, iron, sew or have a good visit, please feel free to join us. It is a fun project to help many at Grace Place Shelter in New Richmond or the new Serenity House for Polk/Barron County. Grace Place has requested pillows so we will be sending pillows as soon as they arrive. We will also make pillowcases and have pillows to send to the new residence. Please join us if you are able.
